Overview

Selank (Thr-Lys-Pro-Arg-Pro-Gly-Pro) was developed by the Institute of Molecular Genetics of the Russian Academy of Sciences. Based on the immunomodulatory peptide tuftsin, it modulates serotonin transport, inhibits enkephalin-degrading enzymes, and increases BDNF. Its anxiolytic effect is benzodiazepine-like without GABA-A binding u2014 no sedation, tolerance, or withdrawal.
